The Man with the PlanJon Christopher Davis
Out of all the corporate party bands in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston, what differentiates LSA from other Texas party bands is that we come out of the artist world (writing, recording and touring), not the wedding band world (goofy outfits, cheesy set lists and Solid Gold dance moves). In a culture of pre-recorded backing tracks and gimmicks (sight over sound), LSA is keeping soul and mojo alive and well. Coffee black, if you will. Farm to table, not drive-through. That's Lone Star Attitude!
This year, I celebrate 25 years of being in the music industry, and I'm lucky to say that I'm more in love with my job than ever!
As a multi-published songwriter, I've been fortunate to write for two of the largest music publishers in the world, Warner Chappell and BMG. There, I penned songs for major-label artists, such as Dolly Parton, Hal Ketchum, Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sherrie Austin, Rodney Atkins and Tammy Cochran. "Little Bird," recorded by Sherrie Austin, peaked at number 4 on Billboard's Top Country Singles Sales Chart.
In 2006, I moved back home to Texas to start my own company, JustCoolMusic.com, where I now write and produce theme songs to enhance a corporation's branding (see website for examples). My latest project consisted of co-writing and producing "Power of a Girl" for the Girl Scout's centennial anniversary. The track features members from the pop-country group, Lakoda Rayne, as seen on The X Factor.
As an artist, I've recorded for Warner Brothers, Sony, MCA and Palo Duro Records, and have been featured on, or in, ABC, CBS, FOX, CMT, the Style Network, Pentagon Network, CW Network, Oxygen Channel, USA Today, Billboard Magazine, the Washington Post and Huffington Post. Some of my musical collaborators include Vince Gill, Radney Foster, Rodney Crowell, Steve Lukather of Toto, Stan Lynch of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Go-Go's as well as mega-hit producers, Dann Huff (Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban) and David Z (Prince, Jonny Lang).
As a studio session singer, my voice has been featured on over 500 radio and TV commercials for brands, such as TXU Energy, Ford and American Country Countdown (hosted by Kix Brooks). See JustCoolMusic.com.
Currently, I'm involved in a reality-documentary TV show about Texas singer-songwriters called "Troubadour TX."
For me, music is not a hobby, it's my life. I believe music is the universal language that connects us beyond country and culture, and in my opinion, LSA's excellent at it. From a laid-back dinner set to stage diving, we bring the ATTITUDE to your event. I'm kidding about the stage diving! What I mean is -- we wanna have fun with you and your friends and make your event something worth remembering. You can be the best musicians in the world, but if you don't connect with the audience, who cares?
So, take a look around and if you have any questions at all, you can click on the contact tab and email me personally. I'll be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
